Every time God is looking for a man to use, He looks for something in that man. God is never looking for a crisis holiness man. The man God uses and is using is ever ready in the place of prayer. God can pick him up to use without notice and his life will still be correct. The man of God must be a man that even in the bush, where there is nobody controlling him, he is living right. He must also be a man that any part of his life- social, family, ministerial – that God peeps into He is satisfied. He must be a man that God can bang on at any time, anywhere for any divine assignment and he is ready.
The first place God is very much interested in His man is his heart. God’s consideration of His man is first and foremost the issue of his heart’s condition. Sometimes God does not pick a man for His service not because of wrong the man has already done, but because of certain tendencies or what the man is likely to do in the future which God has already seen by peeping into his heart. What sometime makes God to withdraw from committing Himself to a man is not just what he has already done but what he is likely to do in the future. So, the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. Hence thou man of God, you must be a man of single eye and not of double hearts. You must also be a man expert in warfare, with all rank and maintain oneness within the body of Christ.
Thou man of God, you should be such man on the pulpit who can affect men in the pews. Because of this task of affecting men in the pews, you must be such a man who is not for sale, who are honest and sound, who are true to the heart core. Men with conscience as steady as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right if heavens totter and earth reels, men who can tell the truth and look the world right in the eye, men who will neither brag nor run, who will neither flag nor flinch: men who can have courage without shouting it, men in whom the courage of everlasting life runs still, deep and strong: men who know their message and tell it, men who know their place and fill it, men who not too proud to be poor even though they make others rich: men with eunuch consecration rather than confiscation of goods and money from men in the pews as if by right or by authority. Such men are scarce but it is such men that God is looking for. It is such men that God normally earmarks to use. And when a man is earmarked by God to bear the holy and sacred things, he must tread softly, soberly and gently: he must conduct himself diligently before God in holiness and in righteousness.
The bearer of the Ark must not stumble or else the glory of God they bear will stumble and fall. To avoid stumbling and falling, you must watch your steps, your methodologies and your ways. You must also beware of unbelief, which hinders a man of God from experiencing the unlimited‘power of God. Unbelief makes a man to toil and toil, without entering into God’s rest. Most men that experiences miraculous deliverance even from sin and Satan, later on got impoverished, withered and perished on the way to Glory because of unbelief. They became stagnant, just telling stories of their past dealings with God. Life and ministry became mere routines of repetitions. You should therefore maintain a single eye on God’s word. Whatever comes your way, uncover not your head. Rend not the ephod vested on you. Be content to remain always a branch in His presence knowing full well that His eyes are on you for grace, for mercy and for glory.
Thou man of God, God is pouring into you a borrowed vessel-so that you can fill others until the household is filled with the anointing that will break the yoke of sin, worldliness and Satan in our time and help the offset of her debt unto this generation. The Master Jesus is therefore watching as you labour in His vineyard to reap the harvest for Him without doing damages to their souls by the application of wrong principles and methodologies. You should not desire fanfare or ritual as you labour. You must desire God and Him alone. Don’t desire a shrine out of God’s work. Desire only to grow on, in grace unto maturity, calling people unto God that they may become more useful to the body of Christ in their various churches and localities. You are appointed of God for a tasking responsibility and you cannot afford to be careless.
You must be fully conscious of His hands of grace upon you. Others may misbehave but you cannot, and you dare not. You are separated of God in mercy to advance and fulfill a call in your life’s time. And if God demands stricter consecration of your life, it is because He intends to go far with you. When God elects a man as an object of His mercy, He may wound him but He Himself will bandage the wound. He may break him but He Himself will remold him. He will cripple him so that he can learn to lean on His everlasting arms.
